PARADIGM COMMUNICATIONS GROUP RECEIVES MAGAZINE HONORS AT THE SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS 2013 AWARDS CEREMONY
SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines Magazine and Horizon Edition Magazine, published by Paradigm Communications Group, received honors in the magazine division of this year’s Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Journalism competition, winning eight awards. Paradigm editors, art directors and free-lancers received four first-place awards, two second-place and two third-place awards. The SPJ’s Western Washington Chapter awards were presented May 17 at the SPJ annual banquet honoring Excellence in Journalism among magazine, newspaper, Internet and broadcast media for work done in 2013.
Alaska Airlines Magazine, won five awards. The magazine received three first-place awards: Arts & Entertainment, Eric Lucas, “Creative Tradition”; Headlines, Staff, Alaska Airline Magazine; and Sport’s Photography, Richard Hallman, “Great Northwest.” The magazine also earned two third-place awards: Business & Consumer Affairs Reporting, Debra Prinzing, “Peonies from America’s Last Frontier”; and Sport’s Photography, Lincoln Barbour, “Photo Page.”

Horizon Edition Magazine won three awards. The magazine received one first-place award: Feature Photography, Chad Case, “Gem State Adventures.” The magazine also received two second-place awards: Personal Service Reporting, Kim Cooper Findling, “Action Plan” and Feature Photography, Delton Young, “Showcase 2013.”
